More than 70 illegal structures at Adedenkpo in the Greater Accra Region have been demolished in yet another major exercise carried out by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
The demolition, which started early Sunday Morning was supervised by personnel from the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces.
This is the Assembly’s second major demolition exercise in weeks. Over 1000 people will be left displaced, locals say.
The AMA maintains that the demolitions are in order to free the Odaw River and Korle Lagoon.
