Adamu Asuma, the man who led four others to hold a member of the investigative team Tiger Eye PI, Ishmael Hussein, hostage on Saturday is due for court today Monday.
The Police have charged him with kidnapping and assault.
Ishmael Hussein was kidnapped by five men and confined to a small room in Tamale at a location called ‘Filling Point’ in Wurishe, close to the Tamale Polytechnic.
The incident happened around 9:40am Saturday when the group of five accosted him while he was leaving his brother’s house and confined him for about 40 minutes.
Police believe the kidnapping is linked to one of the judges implicated in the recent judicial scandal.
Tiger Eye PI’s recent exposé shows some judges allegedly taking bribe to compromise cases.
Speaking Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM Monday, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, Spokesperson for the Police in the Northern Region, stated that a search is on to arrest the four other accomplices.
He said currently Ishmael Hussein is doing great and has been kept in an undisclosed location to avoid further attacks.
“We’ll need him in the course of the court proceedings, but if it’s within the means of the company he works for, it will be better to relocate him” ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said.
