A deputy Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Pius Enam Hadzide has advised the good people of Wa in the Upper West region not to waste their time watching campaign adverts of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) as it is being run with funds from corrupt activities.
The NDC which is seeking the re-election of its Flagbearer who’s also the incumbent President, John Mahama, has in the past months been running several adverts on both TV and radio, touting its achievements in the first term of the president.
Whereas the largest opposition NPP’s campaign adverts a not seen much on TV, the NDC on the others hand has splashed its campiagn adverts on the TV screens which are shown at short interval in order to garner votes for the party, 2 weeks to the elections.
But speaking addressing a large crowd of NPP supporters at Wa during the party’s regional rally, Pius Enam Hadzide urged the people to consider watching TV only after the elections, if all their going to see is John Mahama’s adverts which are sponsored with ill-gotten money.
“Now my message to Ghana Televison (GTV) especially, you go round and you see big adverts of John Mahama. My brothers and sisters, those adverts can build dams in Upper West…those adverts they are showing can pay our school fees. Please don’t be deceived by all those adverts they are showing. In fact my charge is that if you open your television and all you are going to see is expensive NDC adverts, then my brothers and sisters let us stop watching TV until after the elections…no more television becuase today if you open your TV all you see is expensive adverts of the NDC, after December 7 election, we can watch television again.”
