Parliament has constituted a 20 member Select Committee to ensure the selection of members into the various Committees of Parliament.
The Selection Committee is to be chaired by the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Prof. Aaron Michael Oquaye.
The Committee also has all the leadership from both sides of the House as Members.
The Committee which is to be chaired by the Speaker has 19 members.
They are; Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Sara Adwoa Safo, Kwasi Ameyaw-Kyeremeh, Matthew Nyindam, Moses Anim and Dominic Nitiwul.
The rest are; Ambrose Dery, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Daniel Botwe, Ama Pomaa Andoh, Barbara Oteng Gyasi and Cynthia Mamle Morrison.
Others are; Haruna Iddrisu, James Klutse Avedzi, Mohammed-Mubarak-Muntaka, Collins Dauda, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Bush, Comfort Doyle Cudjoe Ghansah and Ebenezer Okletey Terlarbi.
There are 16 Select Committees and 11 Standing Committees of Parliament.
In determining the membership for the various committees, Parliament will be working with the ration 169:106.
Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah, who made a statement on the selection committee told the House the decision was based on Order 151 and 152 of the Standing Orders of the House.
