Parliament, Wednesday, adjourned sitting to reconvene on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.
The two weeks break is to allow the House organise an induction seminar for Members, especially, 130 new entrants beginning from January 27, to January 30, 2017.
The induction seminar will take place at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
The seminar is expected to equip the new MPs with the necessary guidelines that will facilitate their work as Members of Parliament.
The break period will also afford the Leadership and the Committee of Selection the opportunity to compose other committees of the House for the effective conduct of parliamentary business.
Furthermore, it will afford the Appointments Committee ample time to conduct its public hearings and present reports on same for consideration when the House reconvenes.
The decision of the House follows the adoption of the Business Statement which was presented to Members by the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.
