The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has demolished several structures at Santase, a suburb of Kumasi on Thursday morning.
The victims have accused AKwasi Addai Odike, founder of the United Progressive Party of being behind the exercise because he once claimed ownership of the land.
A victim in an interview with Osei Kwadwo of Abusua FM, one of EIB’s establishments in Kumasi stated that his trucks have been destroyed in the course of the demolishing since tenants were prevented from moving their properties from the disputed land prior to the commencement of the exercise.
They are appealing to authorities and President Nana Akufo Addo to come to their aid.
The Ashanti Regional Police PRO ASP Mohammed Tanko speaking in an interview disclosed that Police and the KMA had earlier served the workers in the area a notice to vacate the place but they refused.
He therefore urged the victims to go to court if they know their properties have been destroyed due to the demolition exercise.
