The Black Starlets of Ghana are the first African nation to reach the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 after easing their way into the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals on Wednesday.
The Black Starlets beat the host nation, Gabon 5 – 0 in Port-Genntil secure one of the four slots available for the global showpiece.
Ghana were crowned world champions in 1995 and 1999, and have also finished runners-up on two occasions.
The other group features Angola, Niger, Tanzania and Mali, with each having played a match each.
The two-time world champions thumped Cameroon 4-0 in their opening 2017 CAF U-17 Championship opener on Sunday.
Ghana will complete their Group A games against Guinea on May 20.
