Braggart professional Ghanaian Boxer, Brimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku has revealed that he was inspired to bleach his skin by celebrated high life musician Daddy Lumba and the late Michael Jackson.
According to him, he was excited by how good looking these people became after they bleached their skin and wanted to look same hence his decision to change his skin colour.
“The time I dey bleaching myself if people see me on the roadside they’ll say fresh, Banku fresh and I my head make big, I dey love that, but the time I dey stop the bleaching and I make black, if people see me, they say eii, banku black, banku dirty, Ghana if you want to listen to the people you can’t go forward, they were insulting me rough,” [Sic] Bukom Banku told Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM.
In 2016, a section of the public were shocked to see the dark skinned Bokum Banku turned a ‘white man” after bleaching his skin, which got many people criticizing him harshly.
The boxer at the tine explained that he was bleaching for then President John Manama, to make him Ghana’s ambassador to Germany after winning the 2016 general election.
“I am bleaching my skin because when John Mahama wins 2016 elections, he will make me Ghana’s ambassador to Germany. I am bleaching myself for German people to know that German people and Bukom Banku are one. I am changing my system for a while. I want to tell Ghanaians not to worry about me. I will bleach till August and then stop,” he said on radio,
But the boxer told Bola Ray Wednesday night, that he’ll not advise anyone to bleach his or her skin due to what he experienced.
“If you are a woman or man, master…the bleaching is not fine. Anybody bleaching must stop. The time I dey stop bleaching, the rashes I get on my body, the problem I dey face in my body is not small, so stop bleaching is not good. Even if you give me ten thousand million dollars I will not bleach again.”[Sic]
