Ghanaian gospel musician Obaapa Christy, formerly known as Christiana Love, has said she has no regret for divorcing her ex-husband, Pastor Love.
A section of the public are of the view that, the singer is not living up to task in her career as compared to her former days when Pastor Love managed her.
Obaapa Christy who recently delivered a baby boy in America with her new husband, said she has never looked back after her divorce with her ex husband.
In an interview with Sammy Kumah (Sammy kay) on Peace FM’s “Anigye3 Kase3bo”, Obaapa Christy said she is happy with his new husband
“Who says I have regretted divorcing my ex-husband, it is never true, look at me, I’m I looking bad?
“For me I never look back in life when I take a decision, I am very happy with my new husband everything is fine,” she added.
Ace gospel musician Christiana Love says she is grateful to God for granting her an opportunity to finally leave her marriage.
According to the singer, she went through such turbulent times in her nine-year marriage that she, on many occasions, contemplated suicide.
Consequently, she views the current status of her marriage to Pastor Love who doubled as her manager, is a blessing. The marriage, she believes, has broken down irretrievably.
She responded to allegations by her husband who claims she is carrying a four month old pregnancy for another man.
Christie debunked the charge, saying she is neither pregnant nor is she having an affair with any man in Germany.
Her decision to divorce her pastor husband, she said, stemmed from the unceasing abuses he subjects her to – sometimes beating her up in the presence of his girlfriend. Christiana said her husband impregnated another woman – a woman she accuses of being at the centre of all her marital problems – in his church at the same time she was also expecting his child.
She said she had had enough of her husband’s insensitivity and disrespect towards her and was ready to move on in life without him.
Since she has children with Pastor Love, Christie said she did not want to make public issues in her marriage and regretted that her husband preferred otherwise.
