Mawuko Kuadzi, manager of award-winning actor, Abraham Attah has indicated that for the movie industry to surmount its numerous challenges, the sector Minister should be fired.
He added that the problems of the film industry keep escalating each day because the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hononourable Catherine Afeku and her Deputy, Dr Iddi Bari Ziblim are all not Arts inclined personalities.
Mawuko told Kojo Preko Dankwa, host of Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5FM that the Arts sector particularly with the Movie industry will rise to its feet again if both Ministers are shown the exit since their focus as seen by stakeholders is basically on Tourism.
According to him, if it is feasible, the two ministers should be allowed to operate under the Tourism and Culture Ministry and a new ministry created for the Arts industry.
“There are challenges in the movie industry and it can be solved. First we need to change the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture and her deputy. If that can’t be done, we’ll advise they create a new ministry for the creative arts so the movie industry can survive. A minister who creates enmity among actors is not worth to head the art industry. My problem is that once you attach politics to creative arts, you destroy the focus of the industry.” Mawuko Kuadzi told Kojo Preko Dankwa
