The Northern Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu, is in critical condition after his involvement in a car crash at Larbanga, Gonja West Thursday dawn.
Kasapa FM’s Northern regional correspondent Eliasu Tanko reports that the controversial chairman was returning to Tamale after a political campaign at Sawla and Bole, to seek re-election in the upcoming regional executives’ elections on Saturday, when his car crashed at Larbanga near Damongo in the West Gonja district.
Mr. Naabu is reportedly on admission currently at the Emergency Unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
The driver of the regional chairman is said to have suffered a neck injury. His driver together with his police guard are all in serious condition, reports say.
Sources at the hospital say it’s likely he’ll be flown to Accra for further treatment.
