A leading member of the group calling itself the Concerned NPP Youth Coalition, Baba Alhassan has been granted bail by a Tamale Magistrate court.
The Spokesperson of the Coalition of Tamale Youth led thugs was picked up yesterday in connection with the forceful eviction from office of the Chief executive officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The accused this morning appeared before his Honour Justice Anthony Eduku Aidoo, the Presiding Judge of the Magistrate court 2 in the Tamale metropolis.
Counsel for the accused, Lawyer Mohammed Shaibu pleaded for clemency on the basis of his client show of remorse after the widely criticized incident.
He’s therefore been granted bail of GHS 10,000 with three sureties.
Baba Alhassan Thursday evening issued an unqualified apology to medical staff of the hospital from the police cells where he was being held on charges of unlawful entry, offensive conduct and assault. Despite the apology, Baba also demanded the investigations into the allegations of mismanagement at the facility.
Meanwhile, Doctors, Nurses and Midwives at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) on Thursday called off their strike.
This follows a marathon meeting held yesterday by local Health Unions at the TTH comprising of Medical Doctors, Nurses and other paramedics over the several appeals to end the protest by staff after the forceful eviction of the Chief executive officer of the Hospital.
