Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah who is popularly known in showbiz as Shatta Wale has made another promise to gift three new cars to any three media personality who support and promote his brand.
The Zylofon signed artiste who on many occasions has presented expensive luxury cars to his fans and those he is working with told Andy Dosty of Hitz Fm that he will put smiles on the faces of some media persons in July 2019 for their unwavering support for his brand and music.
Shatta Wale dismissed claims that he attacks media personalities who never support his agenda, explaining that he is pleased with the positive impact most media personalities have had on his brand though others have agenda of running his brand down.
He indicated that all his attacks and utterances are just part of the game so media practitioners should comprehend.
“If the media will support my Reign Album from 2018 to October 2019, I together with Kasapreko and other corporate brands will surprise some media personalities who have helped promote and shaped my career to this level.
“I’m not against the media if I’m criticized but where I deserve praise, why can’t the media do same. I know how the media is helping to push my brand but if they get the mindset of promoting my brand, I promise that by July, 2019 I’ll surprise three media personalities with three cars. If they only understand my agenda to make this industry a better sector, I’ll surprise those who push the agenda.
“I always say Samini and Sarkodie are the biggest brand Ghana has promoted to the world but what many perceive to see from them, aren’t what they are doing. The humble, Holy character wouldn’t change the music narrative.” Shatta said.
Explaining why he made a statement against the media yet wants the support of them, Shatta admitted that the media have on several occasions made his brand relevant so would not dispute that fact but his brand grew stronger from ‘Bandana’ days through social media.
“I’ve story from Bandana days and all those who knew me can attest to that fact. If I make certain statement that my social media is more powerful and bigger than the traditional media in Ghana, people shouldn’t take this to heart. I just want to tell everybody that the brand Bandana grew stronger through social media.
“Do you think the media is tired of Shatta Wale? It is a big thing because no man can determine when a man’s fame will go down except God. I’m not doing music forever, I choose to stop doing music because I’ve had enough through music and can quit today to push the new brands coming up like Kwesi Arthur, Kuami Eugene, Kidi, or my Militants, others.
“We have an industry where people know artistes are suffering but they are pretending as if all is well. Do you know what Ghanaian Media have done for Ghanaian artistes that we have never appreciated. When we weren’t big, the media branded us in a good way to help promote our music so how come now that we’re making it, we can’t appreciate the media personalities who played the important role.”
The dancehall artiste is set to unveil his new album ‘The Reign’ at the Fantasy Dome on Saturday 13th October, 2018.
The album contains two of Shatta Wale’s already released bangers “Gringo and Amount” which are already trending on social media. The yet to be launched album is Shatta Wale’s third album after ‘Bandada from Ghana’ and ‘After the Storm’.
