Ghana’s Local Black Stars today missed out on qualifying to the Semi Final stages of the ongoing Cosafa Cup in South Africa. They lost 1:2 to Madagascar in a game played at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
The Black Stars cancelled a 28th minute goal with a 40th minute Daniel Darkwah effort but failed to hold on to that.
A 90th minute goal was all the Malagasy side needed to end Ghana’s dream, and to book a place in the semi final, with Namibia as opponents.
For coach Maxwell Konadu, the loss meant a missed opportunity to win something substantial in South Africa after the silver he won at the CHAN in 2014.
This year’s edition of the competition is the 15th, and started on May 17. It ends on May 30.
