An Accra Circuit court will today, July 13, 2015 rule on the sodomy case involving a senior medical officer at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Dr. Sulley Ali-Gabass.

Dr. Ali-Gabass stands accused of defiling a child under 16 years and engaging in unnatural carnal knowledge, an offence he has denied.

Earlier Lawyers of Ali Gabass had prayed the court to dismiss the prosecution’s claim and sought that the medical doctor  be discharged of the charges of allegedly sodomizing a 16-year-old boy.
But the court dismissed the application of no case filed, arguing that the defense were unable to discredit the evidence by prosecution witnesses and could not on the face of the evidence available to grant the plea of Dr. Gabass.

Dr Ali Gabass allegedly in the months of October 2013 and April 2014 at Kasoa and Alajo, had unnatural carnal knowledge of the victim aged 15.

The victim is alleged to have contracted the deadly HIV disease in the said act and also suffered serious anal injuries and had to be operated on.

Dr Ali- Gabass has denied infecting him with the disease.
