Gospel musician Nicholas Omane Acheampong is not pleased with how Gospel musicians compare themselves with their colleague secular musicians.
Speaking with Kojo Preko Dankwa on E-Voice on Kasapa FM, Omane Acheampong said:
“Gospel musicians should not compare ourselves to the secular musicians; secular musicians are in for only business but Gospel musicians sing for Christ. My colleague Gospel musicians should be careful not to lose our focus because God anointed us to do his work and not for entertainment. So there is no need to compare gospel musicians to secular musicians.”
Commenting on a number of other issues, he also spoke to why their foreign colleagues are paid better than them.
“A lot of gospel artistes have done a lot for the industry but it is still challenging to see Gospel artistes taking the Overall Artistes of the year award. We are all ministering but if we are not careful, we will follow the entertainment aspect of our ministry and lose our focus as gospel musicians.”
“The foreign acts are doing well and being paid better because they have learnt to do things differently. We can learn a thing or two from them.”
