The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has finally set Parliamentary Primaries in the Tema West constituency for July 25.
This follows several months of appeals for the disqualification of one of the aspirants Carlos Ahenkorah by the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Irene Naa Torshie Addo who claimed Mr Ahenkorah did not meet the necessary criteria to contest.
Following the disagreement over Mr Ahenkorah‘s candidature, elections in the constituency was stayed pending results from the Appeals Committee.
But after deliberating over the concerns raised, the Committee has finally cleared him.
Speaking on Kasapa 102.3 FM News, an elated Mr Ahenkorah who is tipped by many as one of the aspirants with the capacity to oust Naa Toshie stated that he had always believed the reasons adduced for his disqualification were frivolous and unfounded.
He assured to run an issue based campaign that will be devoid of mudslinging and personal attacks on his opponents.
Mr Ahenkora was confident that at the end of the election, he would have been declared the the new Parliamentary candidate for Tema West constituency.
