Security at the residence of the Minority Leader in Parliament Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has been beefed up following an invasion of his house by a group of gangsters in the early hours of Tuesday at about 2am.

The thugs who stormed the residence mounting five motorbikes fortunately could not get access to the main yard of the building.

They packed their motorbikes outside the house and one of them tried as he did was unsuccessful in getting the security officer on duty to open the main gate.

The security man who peeped through the gate on seeing that there were other heavily built guys on parked motorbikes called for reinforcement from a patrol team, following which the thugs sped off.

Speaking to Fifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa show Thursday, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu who said he had reported the matter to the police noted that the incident has brought to the fore the need for security of the leadership of Parliament to be enhanced.

He added that he was unsure what the motive of the hoodlums were, as to whether they were out there to cause mischief or that they really intended to cause harm.

“I thank God for preserving my life; God has always been in control of my life and will continue to be. I live a peaceful life, I don’t hold anything against anyone and so I don’t know why someone will want to harm me and for what reason”.
