The two nurses at the Ridge Hospital in Accra who got killed in the June 3 flood and fire disaster have been buried.

The final funeral rites was held today at the Ghana Heath Service Training Centre in Adabraka.

It was attended by some high ranking government officials including the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Oko Vanderpuije, and Health Minister, Alex Segbefia.

The two, Emefa Agbematu, 26, and Harriet Bamfoe, 25, got trapped during the floods and fire disaster at the Nkrumah Circle.

Dr. L. A. Obeng, Medical Director, Ridge Hospital, told on June 5 that:

“Two of our staff because of their dedication to duty lost their lives while on their way to work. As I have always been saying, greater love has no man than to lay his life for his fellow man. We believe that once they died in the line of duty, the good God will give them a place in the bosom of Abraham”, he said.
