The University Teachers Association of Ghana, (UTAG), has called off its one week strike.

Their move follows what they say is government’s commitment in having their demands met.

The university teachers embarked on the industrial action after government declined to pay their book and research allowance.

The lecturers noted that government did not honour its pledge of paying the allowances despite several promises to do so.

But per a statement issued Thursday, UTAG said it has resolved to return to the lecture halls in the coming days following the tremendous commitment shown by government to pay their book and research allowances.
