Kasapafmonline.com can state emphatically that the Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially written to the beleaguered National Chairman of the party Paul Afoko to step aside.
However our impeccable sources within the largest opposition party, say some members of the Council of Elders have questioned the legitimacy of the decision, as a quorum was not reached in the said meeting that moved for the chairman’s sidelining.
Party elders including President John Kuffour and Kwadwo Mpiani among others were said to be absent in that meeting.
Mr Paul Afoko has come under fire for nearly a year by section of the party who believe he and the Party General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong are clandestinely working against the electoral victory of the party’s Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo Addo.
There were attempts to impeach the two officers when some persons in the party started collecting signatures across the country. But it appears that move has been shelved for now.
