George Boateng, the man aspiring to contest President John Mahama for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential Candidate slot for the 2016, has challenged the President and party General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah to also go through psychiatric examination.

The President’s lone contender today (Monday) went through a detailed mental check up at the Pantang Psychiatric hospital after some party executives including Asiedu Nketiah called him a mad man, after he announced his decision to contest the President and bought his nomination forms at the party headquarters last week.

Outcome of his examination is not yet out; but Dr Frank Boateng who attended to him, has informed him (George) he’ll be communicated to when the result is ready.

The move is on the back of an advice given him by General Secretary of the Party, Asiedu Nketia, for him to be mentally checked as his quest to contest the sitting president was abnormal.

Boateng accepted the challenge and went to the health facility Monday to have his mental faculty assessed.

He told Kasapa News that once he has undergone the examination it is just fair that President Mahama who is also a contender in the race, and Asiedu Nketiah who described him as an insane also go through same examinations.

“It is important that these people also go through psychiatric test to be cleared as mentally fit to lead the country”.

George Boateng had earlier indicated that he had picked intelligence that national executives of the party who are bent on ensuring President Mahama contests unopposed, want to mischievously claim he is mentally unstable in their bid to disqualify him from the flag bearer race.

He was billed to pick another nomination form today Monday 7th September but due to his delay at the hospital, he has postponed that exercise to tomorrow Tuesday 8th September.
