The Chief Executive Officer for Medeama Sporting Club James Esirifi has revealed to Kasapa Sports that they turned down the offer from Accra Hearts for their head coach Tom Strand because they felt slighted by the phobian’s package.
Accra Hearts of Oak last season escaped relegation by a skin of the teeth and wanting to avert a similar occurrence this season decided to restructure their technical team by going in for Medeama SC’s FA Cup winning Coach Tom Strand.
With the deal almost near completion Hearts of Oak pulled out citing Medeama Sc’s astronomical compensation demands.
But in a sharp rebuttal the CEO of Medeama SC, James Esirifie told Kasapa Sports that Hearts were not serious in the negotiations because if they were they will not have proposed GHC 20,000 to cater for the buy-out clause of the Swede.
‘If we multiply Tom Strand’s Salary by a year, it’s even more than the GhC20, 000 Hearts decided to pay”, he quizzed.
He furthered that, “there is no sense in toping up their GHC 20K and go for another expensive coach, how can we love Hearts and hate ourselves”, he lamented on Kasapa FM.
Medeama SC are currently preparing for the upcoming season and next year’s Caf Confederation Cup as Ghana’s representative.
