The Electoral Commission has inducted into office what it says is a Steering Committee to help ensure that the November 7 general elections is conducted in a smooth manner.
The committee’s is constituted by persons from various state institutions including the police, military and the prisons service.
The 18-member Committee is to be chaired by the Chairperson of the EC, Mrs Charlotte Osei.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony she was confident that the committee will support the prosecution of credible polls this year.
Ghana goes into an election later this year which promises to be keenly contested by the two major political parties, ruling NDC and the largest opposition NPP.
