The Rawlingses have expressed grief about the passing of the NPP former Chairman Jake Obetsebi Lamptey.

The Advertising and marketing expert died in London Sunday morning from an illness.

A statement from Former President Jerry John Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings extended condolences to the family of the NPP patriot.

“We have learnt of the sad demise of Mr Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party and leading figure in the advertising and marketing industry.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to his family. May God give you comfort and peace at this difficult moment and may the soul of your beloved Jake rest in peace,” the Rawlings’ said in a brief statement.

Meanwhile, the NPP party has directed all its flags to fly at half-mast.

The late Obetsebi Lamptey, was a Chief of Staff and  former Minister ofTourism and Diasporan Relations in the cabinet of President John Kufuor.

He also served as Minister of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital (2002–05) and Minister of Information
(2001–02).
