Core Principles Of The Awards

The core guiding principles of the banking awards which underscore its uniqueness include:
  • The Banking Awards are organised by the consumers of the banking services
  • All universal banks are eligible and are automatically nominated.
  • Nominated banks should not pay any qualification or registration fee in order to be accepted to compete.
  • The evaluation process should be independent of the organizers. A reputable firm should carry it out and it should be based on an objective and transparent methodology with a large sample base of customers across Ghana. This is different from many other awards held in Ghana where a jury, more or less, chooses a winner from among few nominees in a category.
  • To win in a category at the Ghana Banking Awards, it should not be enough to be classified as the best in Ghana for that category as it is in many other awards. The winner should, in addition, obtain at least a certain threshold to safeguard a certain standard.
