Some aggrieved members of the NPP in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam constituency are seeking to revenge the alleged stabbing that was inflicted on them last Saturday night by some thugs believed to be followers of the governing NDC.

The aggrieved NPP activists believe the silence of the police in the matter means they have taken sides and are in full support of alleged atrocities meted out to them by the NDC supporters at Besease in the Central Region.

According to them ever since the matter was reported to the Ajumako Police, the men and women in black uniform are yet to make any arrest.

They therefore see no reason why the perpetrators of the alleged crime would freely walk on the streets in the constituency without being arrested by the Police.

But the Police say they have launched investigations into the circumstances that led to clashes between members of the NDC and the NPP in Ajumako Besease.

While the NDC is accusing the NDC of instigating the violence, the Akatamansonians in a statement rather blamed the elephant family for the hostility.

According to the Police, two members of the NPP and NDC member suffered severe injuries.

The Ajumako Police Commander, ASP John-Paul Akonde said the conflicting accounts of the unfortunate incidence have triggered thorough investigations into the matter to inform subsequent action of the police.

“We’ve two sides of the story. We are still interrogating personnel and we’ve invited some independent witnesses around to give us enough information to help us know what truly happened there.”

Tension broke between the two parties during a festival at Enyan Main on Saturday, when the NPP parliamentary candidate for the area, Ransford E. Nyarko asked locals to reject the NDC come December 7 because they have stalled the development of the area.

Kasapafmonline.com sources said the utterances of the NPP candidate caused a stir among the NDC folks at the event and started hooting and casting aspersions on the nominee.

In the evening about 8:00 pm when the NPP executives had gathered for a meeting at the PC’s residence, some NDC Macho men wielding machetes and knives , according to reports, stormed the meeting and unleashed attacks on them.

Reports say three casualties were recorded in the scuffle that erupted.
