President John Dramani Mahama will today, Tuesday, December 13, join other regional leaders in Banjul to hold talks with the country’s leader Yahya Jammeh on the current political situation in the Gambia.

President Yahya Jammeh has annulled the elections and called for a re-run after earlier conceding defeat in the Presidential polls.

President Mahama has accepted the request of the regional body-ECOWAS to join the Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and two others in an attempt to find solutions to the political situation in the Gambia.

Meanwhile, the UN and the African Union have asked Mr Jammeh to accept defeat in the Presidential polls.
