President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 left Ghana for Nigeria

The president’s trip is at the invitation of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Most Rev Dr Matthew Hassan Kukah, to attend a two-day International Conference on Transformative Governance in Africa, Director of Communications at the Office of the President, Eugene Arhin disclosed in a statement Wednesday.

President Akufo-Addo is billed to deliver the keynote address at the Conference, on the theme, “How to make Democracy work for Africa.”

Mr. Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana on Thursday, February 15, 2018, and in his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead.
