Two people have their lives left hanging in the balance after an articulated truck loaded with cement lost control and rammed into a building at Asenua in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti region.

A man believed to be in his 60s who was sitting in front of the house including the driver of the articulated truck reportedly sustained varying degrees of injuries after the incident.

An eyewitness Adwoa Mensah speaking to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said the incident occurred when the driver of the truck with registration number GT 9083-17 who was driving on top speed failed brake and crashed into the building.

According to Adwoa Mensah, several properties including her hair dressing container were destroyed as a result of the incident.

She said Police personnel and community members had a tough time rescuing the man from the truck after the incident.

The man and the articulated truck driver who sustained severe injuries are currently receiving treatment at Mamponteng government hospital.

However Asenua residents have appealed to the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA), for the urgent construction of speed ramps to help address frequent vehicular accidents within the enclave.
