Some 12 people are said to have died in an accident on the Kumasi-Sunyani highway in the Ashanti region.

A report states that the accident occurred between a ford minibus registered AS 7257-15 and a Benz cargo truck with registration number GR 2624-14 heading to Dormaa Ahenkro from Kumasi.

The two vehicles had a head-on collision leading to the death of the passengers mostly in the ford vehicle. The driver of the ford also died in the crash.

The midnight incident happened few kilometers from the spot where dancehall artist Ebony lost her life.


Ebony died after she was involved in a gory accident on the Kumasi–Sunyani road on February 8, 2018 when she was returning to Accra from Sunyani.

Her friend, Franky Kuri, and a Military Man, Atsu Vondee, who is said to be her bodyguard on board a Jeep from Sunyani also died in the head-on collision with a VIP bus heading towards Sunyani from Kumasi.

Her funeral service was held at the forecourt of the State House. She was later buried at the Osu cemetery on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Late Ghanaian artiste, Ebony took home at the ultimate at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards.

She won ‘Artiste of the Year’ and two other awards – ‘Album of the Year’ and ‘Afro Pop sonng of the Year.’ She made history by becoming the first female and dead artiste to win the ultimate.

Her award was received on her behalf by her former manager, and parents.
