Ghanaian musician, Gregory Bortey Newman, known in showbiz circles as King Promise, has said section of Ghanaians calling President Akufo Addo ‘King Promise’ adds up to his brand.

In an interview with Kwame Bee on Kasapa Fm’s ‘Di Wu Lane Mu’ show, the ‘Selfish’ crooner indicated though it sounds hilarious, he has no problem with it.

“It’s funny but it’s also a big thing for the fact that many use my name for the President. It’s funny I don’t lose anything and doesn’t take anything away from me so I’m going with the flow.

“It’s a big plus for me because this is the President of the Republic of Ghana so I’m very ok. I’ll say NO if they (Ghanaians) had tagged my name to a fetish priest.” King Promise told Kwame Bee.

President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has been tagged “King Promise” by his political opponents. This is due to his continuous promises to the people of Ghana every time he has the opportunity to do so.

Currently, the musician is making waves with his new tune Abena after the release of CCTV which took over music charts in Ghana.
