The CEO of gold dealership firm, Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM 1, may not return to Ghana any time soon after his acquittal, kasapafmonline.com has gathered.

The now most popular and wanted businessman in Ghana was acquitted and discharged by a Court in Dubai, Tuesday, April 9, 2019, following allegations of fraud charges levelled against him by an Emirati citizen in Persian country.

Following his release by the court, expectations are high for the return of NAM 1 to Ghana.

However, per the court’s ruling, the complainant has one month within which to make an appeal against the court’s ruling.

That means should the complainant exercise his right of appeal, the case may drag for some time, making it impossible for Nana Appiah Mensah to return home as expected.

Should the complainant decide not to exercise his right to appeal, that means NAM 1 should be expected home (Ghana) within the second week of May, 2019.

This development was confirmed by a Deputy Minister for Justice and Attorney-General, Joseph Dindiok Kpemka in an interview he granted to journalists following the release of NAM 1.

“I can confirm on authority that NAM 1 has won the case in Dubai pending any further appeal by the complainant in that matter. If there is no further appeal, it elapses and his freedom is without questioning. I can say without doubt that it only goes to confirm my earlier suspicion which I shared with a number of media houses when I came from Dubai – in fact when NAM 1 narrated his story to me at the El Bashab Police Station. I said that taking his story without any pinch of salt, and believing that what he was telling me was true, he had a very good case and that he was going to get acquitted. That has been my story. And so what has happened today does not surprise me. It only confirms that what he told me was the case and the court has gone ahead to release him accordingly of any wrongdoing. But the caveat there is that he cannot came home because the complainant has 30 days within which to appeal”, he explained.
