Obaasima Movement Ghana ( OMG ) has shown love to mothers and their newborn babies by donating items ranging from toiletries to food products on Mothers Day.

The non-governmental organization with the objective of celebrating the achievements of women in Africa especially Ghana and gender mainstreaming through advocacy for the bridging of gender gaps and ensuring equal opportunities, visited the Adabraka Polyclinic and Accra Regional Hospital as it joins the world to celebrate mothers on Mothers Day on Sunday 12th May.
Speaking to newsmen after the donation, President of Obaasima Movement Ghana, Obaasima Serwaa Akoto said mothers are the backbone of every society and need to be celebrated every day and not only on occasions.
According to her, from the first day of pregnancy to the last push, mothers go through crucial moments and need to be shown love by family especially husbands.

Serwaa Akoto advised that for Ghana to win the war against maternal mortality, mothers should take antenatal care seriously so as to help prevent any pregnancy-related diseases and complications which when not attended to can cause death at childbirth.
She assured that the movement will keep encouraging and supporting women in all spheres of their lives.
