Angry youth of Manya Kpongunor ,as suburb of Odumase Krobo has begun mobilizing themselves to hit the street again over Power Distribution Services(PDS) undue delay in restoring power to the community.

The angry youth group calling itself Arena Boys on Monday afternoon were seen going round with megaphone announcing to the youth to prepare for protest this evening if the light is not restored.

According to them, they are prepared to crash with the police should they attempt this time to again use brutal force.

But the Municipal Chief Executive for the Area, Simon Kwaku Tetteh, is calling for calm as he continue the engagements with PDS management to restore Power to the area as quick as possible.

Checks from the Community on Sunday indicated the situation is heightening tension in the already volatile community.

The Divisional Chief of Piengua traditional council ,Nene Tetteh Zogli III on Friday held a press conference at his palace saying his people were running out of patience as PDS continue to deny them power despite in what he described as” deliberate collective punishment”.

PDS restored Power supply to the affected communities Friday evening except Kpongunor following agreement reached in a meeting facilitated by the Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi and mediated by the Public Utility Regulations Commission(PURC) ,PDS Tema Region General Manager and staff, and six(6) Assembly Members from the troubled communities.

As part of the roadmap drawn, PDS was to restore all transformers within possible time in consultation with Senior Authorities if the peace and security of the staff are guranteed.

Residents say the power cut to the area is affecting businesses particularly cold store operators.
