Thousands of aggrieved Ghanaians are expected to hit the principal streets of Accra today (Tuesday) in the Kum Yen Preko demonstration organized by the Coalition for Social Justice (CSJ).
According to the organizers, the protest march is a demonstration against what they say is the economic hardship and oppression under the current government.
The demonstration will kick off at the Obra Sport, through Kwame Nkrumah Avenue to Farisco Traffic Lights towards COCOBOD Head Office and finally end at Hearts Park where demonstrators will be addressed by their leaders.
The Convener of CSJ Sammy Ghamfi who’s also the National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in an interview said the demonstration will be epic and will send a strong signal to the Akufo Addo government.
“The demonstration is going be gargantuan, epic and will be such that it cannot be ignored, we’ll make a very clear and bold message to President Akufo Addo and his government to know that enough is enough. People of this country are tired of the oppression, tired of the harassment of the media and political opponents, tired of the growing level of insecurity in the country and again tired of the bad insensitive policies of the government which have conspired to make life unbearable for the vast majority of Ghanaians.”
