Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has said the Akufo-Addo government has made giant strides in the economy by moving it from taxation to production.
Presenting the Financial Policy of the government for 2020 in Parliament on Wednesday, the Finance Minister said: “We promised to move the economic policy away from one focused on taxation to one focused on production and we have done just that over the last three year,” he said.
He noted that the gains made so far by the Akufo-Addo government are significant, saying: “We’ve stabilised the macroeconomic turbulence in the management of the national economy.”
According to him, Ghana’s economic growth was as a result of the Akufo-Addo administration’s performance in fulfilling pledges and programmes.
The 2020 Budget Statement and Economic Policy is on the theme: “Consolidating the gains for growth, jobs and prosperity for all.”
