The Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency who also doubles as the Minority Ranking Member on Finance Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson has donated over 30,000 face masks, Veronica buckets, hand sanitizers, tissues, and soaps to his constituents to help prevent the spread of COVID 19 pandemic.

Addressing the media, the Member of Parliament for the area Hon. Ato Forson said the virus has come to stay so it is advisable to observe the safety protocols.

“As a Member of Parliament, I am doing my best to make sure that my people are safe from contracting the virus. I have provided many veronica buckets, hand sanitizers, soaps, since the outbreak of the COVID 19 in Ghana”.

“During the lockdown era, I supplied foodstuffs to all the Members from the Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency in the affected areas which are Accra, Kumasi, Kasoa, and many more for them to comply with the lockdown measures though it wasn’t easy for them. I have supported all the public institutions in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District with items that will help them to observe the COVID 19 measures. I will advise all the people from the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District to observe the COVID 19 protocols and made good use of the face marks being shared to them”.

Hon. Ato Forson personally shared over 1,000 hand sanitizers, nose masks, soaps to communities which have recorded positive cases such as Ajumako Entumbil and all its nearby community in order for them to observe the COVID 19 protocols.

He also supplies N95 nose masks and hand sanitizers to the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Hospital to help them do the Contact tracing with is any fears and panic.

The Ajumako Enyan Essiam District acting Health Director Mrs. Esther Amankwa also announced that as at now Ajumako Enyan Essiam District has recorded 9 positive cases of COVID 19 with about 30 contact tracing.

“I am advising the good people in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District to observe the social distancing method. It is difficult for us not to prevent people from observing social distancing methods. We are appealing to the general public NGOs to come and assist us with Personal Protective Equipment.

The Paramount Chief of Breman Essiam Traditional Odeefuo Afankwa III on behalf of all the five Paramouncies in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District thanked the Member of Parliament for the donation.

He pleaded with the residents in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District to allow the District Health Directors to use their Senior High Schools as quarantine centers.

“We should help each other in this difficult time to ensure that our district is safe” he added.
