Thirteen health workers in the Eastern Region have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to the Eastern Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Alberta Britwum Nyarko one of the infected persons is in critical condition and has been referred to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for treatment.
“In recent times we are getting more cases among health workers which is alarming and it’s not just because they are nursing patients, but it’s also because they are members of the community. I must sound a word of caution to everybody that all of us are at risk.
“Apart from one who was very ill who we took to the University of Ghana Medical Centre, all the others are asymptomatic,” Dr. Britwum Nyarko told Joy FM.
Meanwhile, Ghana COVID-19 case count stands at 6,486 and 1,951 recoveries.
