Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo Markin has dismissed media reports that he has contracted Covid-19 disease.
Herald newspaper in its Wednesday edition reported that the Effutu lawmaker has been hospitalised after being infected with the viral disease.
Reacting to the news in a Facebook video, the MP denied the report by the Herald newspaper, asking the public to disregard same.
“I will want to urge Herald and Larry; I’m not going to sue him, but as a matter of conscience, i want to urge for the first time, maybe in the past it was difficult for him to apologize or I have seen that it has become difficult for him sometimes. It’s only fair that the kind of mischief he’s created in the air regarding the story he wrote about me, his next edition he does the needful. If he decides not to do it, it’s up to him.
“Indeed Mr Dogbey has once again gone below belt, and it’s unfortunate. I have forgiven him, but I want him to know that I’m well and hearty.”
Meanwhile, Speaker of Parliament has ordered for a third round of mass testing for covid-19 in Parliament.
Speaker Mike Oquaye’s order followed revelation by Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu that some persons at the legislature who tested positive for covid-19 are refusing to stay home.
