The Intensive Care Unit of the Konfo Anokye Teaching Hospital[KATH] will operate at half capacity for the next two weeks after doctors and nurses there were asked to self-quarantine.
A memo sighted by Kasapafmonline.com sent by the Head of Directorate, Directorate of Anesthesia & Intensive Care to the Medical Director said the staff at the facility were exposed to a patient who tested positive for COVID-19.
“The risk asses put most of them at high-risk exposure and have to self-quarantine for 14 days. In view of that urgent management, meeting was held and the duty roster of the remaining staff has been modified such that:
“The remaining doctors will do cover for emergencies and obstetric cases only at Naska theatre. The ICU will not run at full capacity for the next 14 days, the memo stated.”
