The Eastern Regional Police Command has deployed about one thousand Police personnel to provide security for the Parliamentary Primaries in the Eastern region on Saturday.

The election will take place in 15 Constituencies while 12 other Constituencies will acclaim their candidates who went unopposed.

The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Police Command Sargeant Francis Gomado told Kasapa News special deployments have been made for four identified hotspots in the region.

The Deputy PRO said the Police will be the only body to be in charge of security and that no other group will be allowed. He however said other sister security agencies may come in as and when the need arises.

He called for effective collaboration between the Party and Security to ensure a peaceful election.

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is holding Parliamentary Primaries across the country to elect Parliamentary candidates for the 2020 polls.

Meanwhile Constituency Executives of New Juaben South one of the hotspots have assured a peaceful election.

Addressing the media on Friday in Koforidua, Isaac Adjabeng the Constituency Secretary said issues surrounding the delegates register have been resolved there expecting 582 delegates vote peacefully in 35 designated centers.
