Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Perry Okudjeto has taken a swipe at former Youth and Sports Minister Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye over a comment he described as unfortunate.
Nii Lantey in an interview stated emphatically that there is no need for the current Government to construct ten multipurpose complexes in the country because to him that is not the pressing need of the fraternity.
But this comment didn’t go down well with the Deputy Minister and in reaction to it, Perry labelled the comment by Nii Lantey as baseless.
According to the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lantey should know that sports management is not for the strong man like Mike Tyson in the ring, neither wrestling nor he talkative Nii Lantey who thinks that once you are bossy it shows you are competent.
“Nii Lantey should keep quiet, he thinks sports management is wrestling or boxing, we all witnessed the controversies and confusion you created when you were Sports Minister, he told Adam Adjei on Dwidwamu.
“The work is not a strong man’s business but rather implementing a vision for the development of the sector.”
“Nii Lantey should point out one facility his government did during eight years of their tenure, we all saw how our stadia were deteriorated if not us our four stadia would have still been in a poor state until now even with the newly built Cape Coast Stadium they boast of it was an initiative by President Kuffour in 2008.
“Nii Lantey should tell us what happened to the money his government gave him to construct the New Edubiase stadium,” Okudjeto told Kasapa FM
