The Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) has taken some tremendous steps to introduce a project called Entrepreneurial Hub to assist student entrepreneurs in member institutions.

According to the Students based union, the project when completed will bring all Professional students who are Entrepreneurs together, identify their challenges, and provide them with essential skills to run their own businesses.

This was made known by GUPS President Mr. Gabson Ebenezer Gakpo in a General Assembly Meeting organized at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) on January 9, 2021.

He was confident the project when finally brokered with their partners including NEIP, NYA and YEA will support provide employable skills and financial assistance to several professional student entrepreneurs.

Mr. Gabson maintained that significant steps are also being ventured to aid create employment opportunities for professional students through the project in order to ease pressure on the public purse.

On the part of the GUPS Acting Coordinating secretary Otuo Acheampong Rabbi, the project is about 70 percent complete and that it will not only aid in job Creation but it will also help foster networking among students and organizations.

He averred that the population size of student entrepreneurs on various campuses will also soar with the Advent of the entrepreneurial hub.

Meanwhile, the meeting was rocked with numerous controversies as students mixed reacted to various issues including a ghost fàrm project, capitation fee, approval of committees etc, thereby causing the meeting to last for close to seven hours.
