Oswald Okaitei, the 2016 Pan-African Poet & Spoken word Artiste in Ghana, is a Performer Poet who combines music with poetry lines/verses to paint imagery in the eyes of the mind. He is one of the fresh breaths to poetry/spoken word worldwide. In recent times, he has conceptualized, directed and produced different poems by Prof. Lade Wosornu and some other famous Ghanaian poets.

Oswald has performed on national and international platforms including being the only featured poet at the 8thPan-African Congress. Though quite young, his exceptional style of performance has given him the opportunity to share performing platforms some of the greatest in the industry, Prof. Kofi Anyidoho, Prof. Atukwei Okai, Prof. Lade Wosornu, Muta Baruka, Rocky Dawuni among others. Oswald was also featured in the first ever political documentary in Ghana, VOICES OF THE POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS IN GHANA and has five anthologies to his credit: A WREATH TO AWOONOR; A BRIGHT LIGHT SLEEPS & OTHER POEMS; SONGS OF CONDOLENCE TO TACLOBAN; THE SAILOR’S SAIL IS OVER; ANDMANDELA: THE SOUL OF HIS EARTH. Other Awards received by Oswald include: World Poetry Empowered Poet (2013), World Poetry Theatre Ambassador from Ghana (2014), Philippines Pentasi B. Inspirational Poet (2016) & Global Baobab Awards (2016)

On Friday, 5th May, 2017, the young dynamic and energetic Oswald Okaitei is set to launch his 5th Anniversary in the poetry business & Creative ‘Artpreneurship’. As part of the launch, there will be dramatic poetry enactment, fused with rich music and dance, titled, Akua Ghana (Death before birth and 60 years on), in commemoration of Ghana’s 60th Anniversary. The night will also see citation presentations to individuals & institutions that supported Oswald’ dreams and the launch of yet another book from the poet and author titledTEARS AND joy AT 60, with a foreword by the celebrated academician, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana & former President of Ghana Academy of Arts & Science; Prof Akilagpa Sawyerr.
