A planned demonstration by the Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners (GNASSM) against the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for blocking their source of livelihood, has been postponed, Kasapafmonline.com understands.

The demonstration, dubbed “All Die Be Die” which was expected to have taken place in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 has been rescheduled for June 7, 2017.

The decision for the postponement follows a meeting between the GNASSM and the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, John Peter Amewu on Friday, May 20, 2017 at the Georgia Hotel in Kumasi.

A statement dated May 22, 2017 and signed by the Regional Secretary of the GNASSM, Michael Kwadwo Peprah, said the rescheduled date for the “All Die Be Die” will be subject to the outcome of their interactions with Mr. Peter Amewu.

“Both parties, i.e., the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and our association have agreed to solve the issue through dialogue in order to arrive at a favorable decision for the benefit of all stakeholders,” the statement in part read.
