Ghana marks second anniversary of June 3 twin fire and flood disaster which occured at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, tomorrow Saturday June 3, 2017.

The disaster which is Ghana’s worst in history claimed the lives of 159 innocent persons in an inferno, after torrential rains caused flooding in Accra. The unfortunate incident threw the entire country into inconsolable grief.

 

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has outlined programmes to mark two years since the tragedy.

The Assembly on Friday, June 2 mobilised residents around the Odawna to commence a clean-up exercise for the short ceremony, Kasapafmonline.com understands will be held at the scene for the departed soul.

Statues made of plastic waste have been mounted in front of the Goil filling station where majority of the victims died and at the ‘Dubai’ roundabout.

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly has vowed to ensure that “never again” wil such an incident recur.
