The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma Central, Honourable Ebenezer Nii Narh Nartey has presented 2,500 mathematical sets to candidates of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in his Constituency.

In a short ceremony held at the Lartebiokorshie Cluster of Schools in Accra, the Member of Parliament also presented an amount of Gh¢20,000 to the staff of 20 schools and gave four Circuit Supervisors an amount of Gh¢500.00 each for their industrious service in making education a top priority in the constituency.

Presenting the items the MP, Mr. Ebenezer Nii Narh Nartey said the donation forms part of his social responsibilities to motivate students to study hard and teachers to do their best.

A total of 468,053 candidates will beginning Monday (today) June 5, sit this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) which ends June 9, 2017.

Out of the total number of candidates, 241,148 are males, while 226,905 are females.

The examination will take place at 1,702 centres across the country.
