The young man who blew the cover on the alleged killer of the Abuakwa North MP JB Danquah will in the next few days be thrown onto the streets as his landlord has given him days to pack his belongings.
This follows his inability to pay his rent for several months.
The man in his 20s, whose name cannot be revealed for security reasons, had his family relocated from a community in Accra by the Police immediately after the suspect Daniel Asiedu was arrested following their tip-off.
The frustrated father of two told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa FM Tuesday that the Police have, however, withdrawn all forms of protection and support for his family as promised, after the media and public attention on the issue dwindled.
He said the assurance of witness-protection and financial support have been denied them after the former Greater Accra Regional Police Commander COP Dr George Akuffo Dampare was transferred.
The informant said COP Dampare housed him, his wife and their then two-week old baby for two months before handing them over to the BNI.
Things, however, turned awkward for them when the BNI took over the case, but failed to provide their basic needs prompting the Police commander to inform the former Vice President Bekoe Amissah-Arthur to intervene.
He said Mr. Amissah-Arthur rented an apartment for them by the Spintex Road for a short while and later gave them GHC10,000 to organise themselves.
He, however, said the amount was not sufficient for a start-up since they could not go back to their businesses and livelihood at Agbogbloshie. He said the Police promised to relocate and resettle them in order to ensure their safety, but that has not been the case.
He told Fiifi Banson that currently aside the expired rent, he also owes his landlord as he takes money from him to feed himself and his family.
“Life has become very difficult for me and my family as I don’t do anything to earn a living now. My landlord sometimes becomes very nervous over my staying in his house since no family member nor a friend has visited me at home since I moved into his house. Because of my situation I decided not to be moving about to ensure that my location remains unknown lest I’m attacked. I need a place for my family as I’m being ejected and I need to work to earn a living to cater for my them. The authorities should come to my aid, support from benevolent people will also be welcomed.”
