The maiden edition of the ‘Allianz Awards 2017’, a special event to recognize individuals who have gone beyond all kinds of difficulties to achieve their dreams took place on Saturday, June 17, at the National Theatre, Accra.
The award scheme which celebrated Ghanaian men and women who have defied all odds to prove that the world belongs to those who dare, saw the magical night with two major intriguing musical performances by Ghanaian neo soul vocalist, songwriter, and performer Efya and 2017 King of Ghana Hip-Hop, M.anifest.
Other talented performers who excited patrons who thronged the National Theatre include, Cina Soul, Haywaya, Alexia Quartey and Lady Jay.
Hosted by two media personalities, Anita Erskine and Kafui Dey, the event saw other special guests, Bola Ray, Eric Don-Arthur, Reggie Rockson, Berla Mundi, Joselyn Dumas graced the night.
The Ghana amputee football team, “The Black Challenge” were named ambassadors for the event.

A total amount of GHc 40,000.00 from sales of tickets and donation from Allianz Ghana was raised to support OAfrica, a charity organization that promotes family-based care for orphans and other vulnerable kids.
OAfrica’s programs support separated children by building strong families to eliminate child abandonment and create safe, stable and loving families and communities.
